as of now..

I'm drowning in work. Work that should have been split up equally between 6 people, but have all fallen on my tiny shoulders.

I'm eating chocolate cake with ice cream..and it's past midnight

I can feel my throat getting sore as I eat, but for some reason or another (okay, the reason is stress and an utter lack of self-control) I cannot stop.

The only thing keeping me going is the thought of christmas, and seeing Ian's family (I do wish I could be with mine this christmas but I'm more than happy to be with these people that I have, in fact, grown to love).

I have a few christmas gifts for you all..in the form of giveaways planned through december.

I know for sure that I'm NOT going to be able to fit into that vintage dress I had bought with Christmas in mind. Nevermind, there's always next year!

I'm gonna have to go straight back to work, abandoning the blogosphere for abit while I sort out my "real" life (:

I'll see you all real soon!
be good (;

10 interesting tidbits

A big thank you to Ali for the sugar doll award!
If you want to really laugh out loud, you need to head over to her blog (: enough said (;

So here we go, 10 interesting tidbits about me.

I go to horror films all the time but usually end up watching only 1/4 of it through the gaps between my fingers over my eyes. Don't judge me.

I'm always planning for my next meal. At breakfast I think of lunch and at lunch I plan for dinner.

I used to think that the only way to a boys heart was to be cute.

My only motivation as a kid for going to the cinema was to score a giant bucket of popcorn ( second only to spending time with my dad over jackie chan movies)

I thought the world was black and white (during my parents time) when I was a kid.
I mean judging from them old photos, who wouldn't think that!?

What I think is the best line from a song ever is..."If looks could kill, you'll be lying on the floor"
Heart is only the best 80s (girl) band ever. Youtube them.

South-african accents really amuse me. Am trying to master it.

I could spend hours sitting with Ian while he games, singing along with the glee soundtrack the entire time.

I have super-magical-powers when it comes to predicting dice rolls..according to Ian at least, he hates that I almost always roll the number I want at board games. What can I say? The board-game gods must really like me.

I've an uncanny ability to score really goods bargains. Come shopping with me and I promise you'll reap what you sow!

I'm not going to pick and choose who to award this award to..so it's for ALL OF YOU (:
Thanks for being so great!

Happy sunday (:

Oh, and Beetroot says hi.
He's enjoying some quality time with the polariod camera. I think I should too.

things I'm loving this week

The new milkshake place that has over 150 different flavours.
I have a mission to try every single one by the time I graduate. 2 down, 149 to go.

Fun, yet productive study sessions in the law library with sheryl.
I love photobooth.

Drawing on tights
fabric pens for the win!

early morning chats & cuddles

bell jars.

an online exhibition featuring Jean de Brunhoff's first drafts of BarBar.
Go see here. I loooved barbar growing up and I still do.

The pitter patter of raindrops on the roof that sound like the popping of bubble wrap or a gathering of lithe tapdancers.

Curly hair

anything yellow

Blogger friends.
(I would scrape out the "blogger" but then you guys wouldn't realise I was talking about you!)

my first ever bus ride in Exeter!

I know right!? Insane. I usually walk everywhere, or take a taxi when the weather's rubbish.
But it was such a nice ride, especially with the sweet old lady that commented on how lovely my two-toned tights were. I love old people, especially those that ride the bus.

our "new moon" movie date.

Even if I couldn't stomach the cheesiness of it all, at least Ian was there to join me in eye-rolling and giggles.
We are such cynical grouches!
ps: that smooth shirt removal scene? Oscar worthy acting right there! (;

What are some things you're loving this week?
Happy weekend (:

Someone once told me I have difficulty handling disappointment.
And it's true.

Being let down has to be one of the hardest to handle, right behind rejection.
But I know that no matter how many times people and the world might reject or disappoint me,
there's only one who's approval matters, who will guarantee to fulfill every promise made, who can never reject or disappoint.

And that one, is the one I need to set my heart on.

I'm beginning to realise the futility of chasing anything else.
And how much time I've wasted.

If you have ten minutes to spare, spend it on this video.
I hope it lifts your spirits and brings you much hope.
thanks sheryl for sharing it (:

Have a blessed weekend, everyone.

if you were inside my head for a day..

the number of mental notes you'd encounter might become overwhelming

you can't help but groove to the beat of earth, wind and fire

you would know how much I sometimes miss Aramis

you'd begin craving for sweet treats as well.

you could get a little confused from all the random thoughts streaming through

Ian would become your best friend too

colour would surround you!

and you'll encounter little boxes labeled "things I've always wanted to do but never got around to doing"and "future home decorating ideas"

you might understand why I am so in love with my friends, my family and my God.

But if you were really inside my head for day, I think you might just want to get out! (;

What would I find if I were inside YOUR head for a day?

Happy thanksgiving, all (:

ps: if you're interested, pop over to the lovely Nikolett's blog for a guest post from me.

really, really outdated pictures.

These are from last summer.
Being the procrastinator that I am, I take forever to develop photos!

The next few weeks are going to be insane for me! With soo much work to get done before I say goodbye england and hello USA for the holidays. I'll be spending two weeks in Chicago+DC with Ian's family (:

It's gonna be my first white christmas! And I'm beyond excited, even if Ian's limiting the number of cameras I bring on this trip ):

And if any of you could give me tips on what to eat, where to go, etc. I'll be delighted (:

Happy thanksgiving to all!
I've never actually celebrated, but anything that involves turkey and family has got to be amazing (:

Have a good one, people.
I've got quite alot of things on my mind to blog about, but they'd just have to wait until I get work out of the way (:

This is what happens when you download an application from a site with the title
"Useless mac applications to waste time on"

And since it's all rainy and mother nature is clearly pmsing, I'm spending the rest of my saturday in, playing with the best time-wasting applications available. And of course getting some work done and continuing on with the hannibal marathon we started on last night.

It ended with a very strange conversation with Ian about how human meat possibly tastes like.
His conclusion was pork.

Anthony hopkins is one heck of a creepy dude.
shiver.

How are you spending your saturday afternoon?
